An 80-year-old woman presents with a painful lump in her left groin for two days. No other symptoms are present. She cannot recall if a lump was present in the same region prior to this. She was diagnosed with essential hypertension five years ago. This is well controlled via lifestyle modifications and telmisartan 40 mg daily. She is not on any other medications. Her surgical, gynecological, and family histories are unremarkable. She has two adult children, both of whom were delivered vaginally. She does not smoke and only drink socially, on average less than 1 standard drink per week.
