A 32-year-old woman at 9 weeks of gestation of her first pregnancy presents with vaginal bleeding and intermittent lower abdominal pain for 1 day. She has no other symptoms. Her medical, surgical, gynecological, and family histories are unremarkable. She is not on any medications. There is no history of allergies.
